Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Dredge is a shared platform: every account runs on the same servers and sends mail from shared addresses. What one account does affects everyone else. This policy lists what isn't allowed. It's part of our Terms of Service.

Illegal and harmful content

You may not host, send, or link to:

  • Anything illegal in the United States or the State of New York.
  • Child sexual abuse material of any kind. We have zero tolerance: accounts are closed immediately without refund and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
  • Content that threatens or incites violence, harasses specific people, or publishes someone's private information without consent.
  • Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights, including pirated software, media, or courses.

Security and abuse

  • No malware, phishing pages, or sites that impersonate other people or businesses.
  • No scanning, probing, or attacking other systems, including port scans, brute-force attempts, and denial-of-service tools.
  • No open proxies, VPN endpoints, or anything that relays other people's traffic.
  • No attempts to access other customers' accounts or get around your plan's limits.

Email

  • No spam: every email you send in bulk must go to people who asked to receive it, and must include a working way to unsubscribe.
  • No purchased, rented, or scraped mailing lists.
  • Each plan has an hourly limit on outgoing email. For newsletters or large mailing lists, use a dedicated email service instead.

Resource use

Your disk space is for your websites and email, not general file storage or backups of other systems. The following aren't allowed on any plan:

  • Cryptocurrency mining.
  • Game servers, chat bots, or other processes that run continuously in the background.
  • File-sharing, torrent, or media streaming services.
  • Scripts that put sustained heavy load on shared CPU, memory, or database resources.

What happens if something breaks this policy

For most problems, like a hacked site, a runaway script, or a noisy cron job, we'll email you, explain what we found, and help you fix it. If you can't or won't, we may suspend the account.

For serious violations, including illegal content, malware, phishing, spam, or anything that endangers the platform, we may suspend or close the account immediately and without a refund. Where the law requires it, we'll cooperate with law enforcement.

Reporting abuse

To report a site or email coming from Dredge, write to support@dredgehost.com with the URL or full email headers. We read every report.
