Why Dredge Host

Dredge is small on purpose. Here's what that means for you compared with the big hosting companies, and when we're honestly not the right fit.

How we compare

 Dredge HostMany large hosts
Renewal priceThe plan's listed price, which doesn't go up while your plan is activeIntroductory prices often jump sharply at the first renewal
Storage and transferReal numbers on every plan: 2–15 GB SSD, 50–300 GB transferOften “unlimited”, with fair-use limits in the fine print
SupportEmail that goes to the people who run the serversChatbots and outsourced first-line support are common
Control panelStandard cPanel, so nothing to relearn if you ever moveSometimes a custom panel that makes leaving harder
Email10–75 mailboxes included, depending on planSometimes sold as a paid add-on
HTTPSFree and automatic for every domain and subdomainUsually free, though some still upsell paid certificates
CommitmentNo contracts. Pay monthly, quarterly, or yearly, with a 7-day money-back guaranteeThe lowest advertised price often needs a multi-year prepayment
BackupsDownload your own any time, or add CodeGuard daily backups from $7.50/yrVaries; restores are sometimes charged per use

When Dredge isn't the right fit

We'd rather tell you now than after you've paid. Look elsewhere if you need:

  • Root access or a custom server stack. Dredge is managed shared hosting. A VPS is the better choice.
  • Windows or .NET hosting. Our servers run Linux.
  • Phone or 24/7 live chat support. We support customers by email.
  • Servers outside the US. Everything runs in our Virginia datacenter.

If none of those apply, Dredge is probably a good home for your site. Compare plans or ask us a question first.

Need more than 300 GB of transfer a month? Email support@dredgehost.com and we'll put together a custom plan.
