Dredge collects only what it needs to run your hosting account and bill for it. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything unrelated to the service.
What we collect
- Account and billing details: your name, email address, billing address, and phone number (if you give one), plus your order and invoice history.
- Payment information: card payments are handled by Stripe. We see the card type and last four digits, never the full number.
- Support conversations: the emails you send us and our replies.
- Technical logs: IP addresses and timestamps from logins to your client area and cPanel, and standard server logs for your sites. These help us keep the platform secure and fix problems.
- Your hosted content: the files, databases, and email on your account. We don't look through it, except when needed to investigate an abuse report, fix a problem you've asked us about, or comply with the law.
Who we share it with
Only the services we need to run Dredge:
- Stripe, to process payments.
- Trustpilot, to send you an optional invitation to review Dredge after you pay. Trustpilot receives your name, email address, and a copy of your receipt. Leaving a review is up to you.
- CodeGuard, only if you add automated backups to your plan. CodeGuard stores copies of your site's files and databases so they can be restored.
- Internet.bs, our domain registrar, and the domain's registry, only if you register or transfer a domain through us. They receive the contact details that registration requires: your name, address, email address, and phone number. Registries may publish some of these in public WHOIS records, according to their own rules.
- NordVPN, only if you order it. NordVPN receives the details needed to set up your VPN account, such as your name and email address.
- Our Virginia datacenter, where the servers that store your account and data are hosted.
- Law enforcement or courts, only when we're legally required to, such as by a valid subpoena or court order.
Cookies
The client area at my.dredgehost.com uses cookies to keep you logged in and to remember your cart. dredgehost.com itself doesn't use cookies. We count page views with Plausible Analytics, which uses no cookies, collects no personal data, and doesn't track you across other sites. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, and the home page shows listing badges served by PeerPush and Peerlist. Each of these receives your IP address when your browser loads them. The home, contact, and getting-started pages also show a Trustpilot review button, loaded from Trustpilot, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep account details while your account is active. After an account is closed, its hosted files, databases, and email are deleted within 30 days. Billing records such as invoices and payments are kept for as long as tax law requires, usually up to 7 years.
Your choices
You can update your details in your client area at any time. To get a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email support@dredgehost.com. We'll do it, except for records we're legally required to keep.
Security
Logins and all pages on dredgehost.com and my.dredgehost.com are served over HTTPS, and access to customer data is limited to the person who runs Dredge. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever learn of a breach that affects your data, we'll tell you promptly.
Children
Dredge is for people 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
Changes
If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we'll email active customers before it takes effect.
