This works once your domain's nameservers point at Dredge (see Connect a domain), because that's what tells the rest of the internet to deliver your mail to us.

Step 1: Create a mailbox
- In cPanel, open Email Accounts and click Create.
- Pick the domain, type the part before the
@, and set a strong password. - Set the storage limit. Mail counts toward your plan's disk space, so give each mailbox a sensible cap rather than “Unlimited”.
- Click Create.
Step 2: Read it in your browser
Go to https://yourdomain.com/webmail and log in with the
full email address and its password. That's all you need to send and
receive from anywhere.
Step 3: Add it to your phone or computer
In cPanel, next to the mailbox in Email Accounts, click Connect Devices. It shows the exact server names for your account, and can generate automatic setup files for Apple Mail, iPhone, and Outlook. If you'd rather enter it by hand, most apps want:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | Your full email address |
| Incoming (IMAP) | Server from Connect Devices, port 993, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing (SMTP) | Same server, port 465, SSL/TLS, authentication on |
| Password | The mailbox password |
Choose IMAP over POP3 so your mail stays in sync between your phone, laptop, and webmail.
Step 4: Make sure your mail isn't marked as spam
In cPanel, open Email Deliverability. If it shows problems next to your domain, click Repair. That sets up SPF and DKIM, the records that prove your mail really came from you. Then send a test message to a Gmail or Outlook address and check it arrives in the inbox.
Handy extras
- Forwarders send mail for one address to another, such as
hello@to your personal inbox, without a separate mailbox. - Autoresponders send an automatic reply while you're away.
- Spam Filters can move likely spam to a folder instead of your inbox.
Outgoing email has an hourly cap on every plan to protect the server's reputation. It's plenty for everyday mail and site notifications, but not for newsletters. For bulk mail, use a dedicated service and keep your Dredge mailbox for one-to-one mail.
